Hi to everyone! I have just joined so I thought I would come here and say hello. This is the first forum I have ever been on so its all a bit new, apologies if I have problems posting etc. !!

A little bit about myself: I come from primarily a JKD / kali background, I studied with Guro Bob Breen for about 12 years (highly recommend him) and got my black belt under him after about 7 or 8 years. I have trained with Andrew Janson from Rapid Arnis London who posts here (again fantastic all round bloke and highly recommend him especially for edged weapons!) quite a bit. Aside to that I have done quite a bit of boxing and Thai boxing both here and in Thailand.

I have been living in Boracay Philippines from July 2014 -June 2015 training at Legacy Gym primarily boxing (6 x week morning and afternoon). This was a great experience, fantastic training and gym and beautiful island.

Now I'm back in North London, enjoying training BJJ, wing chun and Sanda at the North London wing chun academy. Need to fit in some Escrima again though!

If anyone has any questions fire away and I look forward to being part of your community

    cheers

Hey! Kamusta ka po? (how are you? in Tagalog)

Welcome to MAP! I train in Senkotiros Arnis and I was thinking of going for my Lakan Isa. How was Boracay? I've been meaning to go there with some family when I end up going to the Philippines again.

Bob is great, all round top guy and so full of knowledge. Pleasure to train under!

Saying that you train at Rick Youngs - same deal !!

Which book do you have? Both Sparring and Fighting are invaluable in my eyes regardless of what art you train in

    Mabuti po naman, salamat

I loved Boracay and the Philippines. Yes its a busy and commercialised but there are still quiet and local places away from the hustle and bustle of white beach. Beautiful island and people. Also in a nice secluded part of Diniwid you have Legacy gym which is great training in Paradise ! And cheap.

    Welcome to MAP.

Nice to have one of Bob's guys here.

Andrew Janson took a couple of sessions this year at our annual charity meet.

I believe he's also going to teach at the 2016 event and you'd be more than welcome to come along.
