Kodokan Judo? should i cross train or wait?

hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about Kodokan Judo, and the differences between any other?

I've been lookin to train in a grappling style for a while and finally found a BJJ school that i like. One thing the instructor mentioned was he noticed his students get taken down to the ground alot in Tournaments and he was having a wrestling coach come in on fridays to help everyone out but i may be too busy to attend it. So i found a Judo school not to far away that i would like to try out and fits my schedule better but wasn't sure if it would be way to early to start cross training in judo since i just signed up to bjj, any advice? I figured i could get more stand up sparring time in judo to help balance me out more but dunno if ill end up gettin confused or mixed up alot.

as always i Appreciate all advice/Help. Thanks : )

Kodokan Judo is basicall what everyone means when they say Judo as far as I know. If it's taking time away from BJJ trainning to train in Judo then I would say you shouldn't do it, however if it doesn't clash with your BJJ and doesn't lead to you overtrainning and feeling exhausted then I would say go for it.

Judo will help your Gi based standup a lot, for no-gi stuff then the wrestling coaches stuff will be better but the Judo stuff will be better than nothing.

as the saying goes, "judo is never a wrong answer." just make sure you don't overtrain, and you've got nothing to lose.

I was about to say exactly the same as the guy above. You should always train Judo given the chance.
