Cory Spinks v Jermain Taylor - Spoiler

The under –card fight between Edison Miranda & Kelly Pavlik has been brutal for the 1st – 4 rounds. These guys a beating each other up. I had to edit this quickly because Pavlik KO'd Miranda. A couple of those rounds could qualify for best rounds of the year. The main event is going to be Cory Spinks v Jermain Taylor. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks,
Sensei Tom

Good under card.
Not really a bad fight with the main event, just sort of weird scoring.
Now for the fight next time. Hmmm

Illusive fighters should not be scored very well, if all they are doing is dodging and dancing IMHO...

i thought spinks was skillfull but taylor was not deserving of this win-he just done the bare minimum-not a great fight,
miranda v pavlik was awseome and i believe pavlik will easily beat taylor if taylor has the balls to take the fight, this fight made my night..toe 2 toe war controlled by pavlik-my fight of the year so far..

Cory Spinks v Jermain Taylor

Cory Spinks v Jermain Taylor was boring. Jermain Taylor was in it to win it but Corey Spinks was only in it to hit & run. Corey is rally quick and he has potential but it seems like he didn’t have the heart to fight. Jermain gave us a glimpse of a good jab & right cross but that was it. Jermain won a boring unanimous decision.

It was a split decision. How can the judges be that divided? Anyway, not a good fight really. Looking forward to Cotto-Judah though!

Jim Lampley said it best "the judge who scored it 117-111 for Spinks" should never judge another fight, for he is not qualified from that score card.

It was a clear and boring victory for Taylor. He fought an elusive individual and won. IMHO Boring because Spinks would not fight. Simple

Exclamation I had spinks winning by 2 rounds

Taped the fight, and watched it 3 times with every time with a piece of paper.
I had Spinks winning by 2 rounds.
As for Kelly Pavlick:
Taylor, run!!!!!! He is going to kill you!!!

Did you see those knuckle bumbs on the head of Miranda? Yikes, hope he spent the next 2 days being monitered at a hospital for his own safety.

But given his back ground and where he comes from, I doubt they are that caring after a loss like that, 'no mas mano de mano' for him. In My humble opinion.

Not till he is throughly checked out and monitered. He is not the brightest light in the room with his education and all, he would be one that if lossing brains cells because of a beating would be hard to detect.

Not a put down just a fact of life (as he grew up), is he with Don King? Hope not, for he is doomed if that is the case.

Hi,
Yes, true...I think that will NOT be a fight to come quick, I was surprised Pavlick took that approach he could have waited a few rounds and still done well, maybe even better.

Boxing is to be smart also, not just a super winner and beater of all that step in the ring. He really went hog wild.

It was obvious to me that Taylor is his own man also.

He did not do what Emanuel told him to do, nor the ranting Debella was doing. Notice the verbal abuse he was spewing at him around round 10 (debella at taylor)?

LOL and Don King just smiling counting his money in his head LOL...

Pavlick again. He was way to overwhelming if he was/is looking for a fight with Taylor. DeBella will not go there IMHO.

But Taylor may want it because he can fight when they want to clash and not run..It will be interesting to see what develops here.

I'll bet Emanuel Stewart, would still be betting on Taylor if it happened.

Me I am thinking it will be a heck of a fight and not one to last long...LOL

Taylor is very strong, so is Pavlick, both have the kind of body that can go all out and last 12 round in my humble opinion and they both have power. Sure would be a good one.

I watched some of it again (fight between miranda and pavlik) wow and wow again. Those bumps on miradas head were bad, I'll bet he was swooollllen up really bad the following days "leach" time for that guy... (remedy for removing blood" still might be in his case LOL.. Wow again.

I taped it last night, both fights and will watch them, like you mentioned, see why Taylor lost in your opinion.

Exclamation Taylor P4P???? give me a break!!!!

I do not think so, and i believe he is overrated!!!!
Spinks Out schooled him, and Pavlick will kill him in under 9 by KO!!!
Seriously, pull the 2 fights with him against hopkins, and tell me Hopkins didn't cream him the first fight, and in the second, he didn't "Beat" The Champ, who was Hopkins the second time.

i owuold tend to agree.....he is a bit underwelming. close fights with hopkins, winky and now cory.

he is kinda a enigma to me he looks huge.(i still dont know how he makes his weight....maybe he has hollow bones like a bird or something). everyone says he hits HARD. but each fight i watch...ehh.

seem like a decent fellow though.
