Training in the Philippines - Major Costs

The Executive Committee of the British Council of Kali Eskrima Arnis Instructors has received several requests for information concerning the major costs of training in the Philippines. The following details give an estimated cost of training in Cebu, Philippines:

Flights

Return flight from the UK to Cebu, Philippines

Qatar Airlines - £375.00 + £110.00 Tax

Accommodation

Reasonably priced hotel accommodation varies from £10.00 to £20.00 per night

Food

The cost of food and beverages should not exceed £10.00 per day

Training

Based on the fees of a respected HQ in Cebu, private training under the supervision of several Masters and Grandmasters:

Approximately 40 hours training per week - £150.00

Most reputable Masters and Grandmasters will offer a discount for small group training.

Example 1 – 2 weeks training costs with average accommodation (estimated)

Flights including Tax - £ 485.00

Accomodation (£15.00 pn) - £ 225.00

Food and beverages - £ 150.00

Training - £ 300.00

Total - £1160.00

Example 2 – 4 weeks training costs with average accommodation (estimated)

Flights including Tax - £ 485.00

Accomodation (£15.00 pn) - £ 450.00

Food and beverages - £ 300.00

Training - £ 600.00

Total - £1835.00

Further to a recent posting, the Executive Committee of the British Council of Kali Eskrima Arnis Instructors has further researched information concerning the major costs of training in the Philippines. The following details give an estimated cost of training in Cebu, Philippines, based on currently available average information:

*Flights*

Return flight from the UK to Cebu, Philippines

Qatar Airlines - £375.00 + £110.00 Tax

Reasonably priced accommodation varies from £5.00 to £10.00 per night

*Food*

The cost of food and beverages should not exceed £10.00 per day

*Training*

Based on the fees of a respected HQ in Cebu, private training under the supervision of several Masters and Grandmasters:

Approximately 40 hours training per week - £150.00

Most reputable Masters and Grandmasters will offer a discount for small group training. For example, two people would receive a 20% discount per person on the individual price. Four people would receive a 30% discount per person on the individual price.

Example 1 – 2 weeks training costs with basic accommodation (estimated) for one person

Flights including Tax - £ 485.00

Accomodation (£5.00 pn) - £ 70.00

Food and beverages - £ 140.00

Training - £ 300.00

Total - £995.00



Example 2 – 2 weeks training costs with average accommodation (estimated) - group of 2 - cost per person

Flights including Tax - £ 485.00

Accomodation (£10.00 pn) - £ 140.00

Food and beverages - £ 140.00

Training - £ 240.00 (20% discounted fee)

Total - £1005.00 per person



Example 3 – 2 weeks training costs with average accommodation (estimated) - group of 4 - cost per person

Flights including Tax - £ 485.00

Accomodation (£10.00 pn) - £ 140.00

Food and beverages - £ 140.00

Training - £ 210.00 (30% discounted fee)

Total - £975.00 per person
