Help, help and help me please

Hello

As the title says, I need help.
I have been doing Taekwondo for about 4 years up untill now. I gave it up because of some issues I was not pleased about concerning my master and the fact that I was learning everything wrong.
This all happened when four Korean master came over to my class in the UK to teach us weaponary MA and self defence. Their experience in MA was very attractive and as you may have gussed many people couldn't wait to get taught by them. Well at the time I was actually sharring accomodation with my TKD friend and she was Korean, she had got to know them quite well and told me all this stuff about my master.
My master basicaly had ripped them of money, lied about the students, lied about how to start a Do Jang in England and also said some unfair and nasty comments about my friend and I concerning how we performed.
To add insult we had been doing every pattern (pomsea) and kicks wrong, I had waited for ages to get everything right so that I could officaly be at least 80% good when I becamme black belt (I am still on Blue Seniour). It seemed impossiable to actually achive it, because we didn't know how to fight or kick.
So I left! tried other clasess but no class stood out, I now am stuck for a good teacher. Is there any source or people that I could speak to in the UK who could help me find the master who could teach me.

Tansy

help

hi,
sorry to hear about your situation. I know my instructor has talked about me but its only on how to improve.
as for another school - the only thing i can think of is to phone an organisation head office. EG TAGB head office, ITF or WTF head office. I dont have the numbers on me but they are on the internet.
I hope this helps and dont give up!

That's a real shame. Your master should be ashamed of himself!!!! Where are you located in the UK and what TKD style did you do, ITF or WTF??

what do you mean by teach you? are you looking for an instructor in your town or would you move if you found a good one somewhere else?

you have to post some details, like Sang suggested and i'm sure our members will help you out.

Tansy - Sutton... You mean Choi Kwang Do? Take a look at the forum here to see if it's for you. It's not TKD, though it is derived from TKD.

I think there is an ITF place in Cheam, also Pimlico if you can travel into London.

Wow, thats pretty harsh stuff, I had something similar happen to me after three years trainning but I didn't feel quite so bad about it because I had kinda known about it for a year anyway.

Err, I say this all the time but if you can't find a decent TKD p[lace have you considered trying out something different? In something like Hapkido you would find a lot of stuff you have allready done usefull. Thats if you cant find a good TKD school around.

Tans:

The ITF place is http://www.docklands-taekwondo.co.uk/schools.html

I haven't been there so can't recommend it, however it was the TKD place I was going to try (until I found CKD!)

When I was investigating the school I got a prompt reply e-mail from Mr Denis, and he also did suggest the Cheam school if that would be closer to me.

Hey that's funny, I live in New Malden and not surprisingly, I am Korean. I train/teach in central London in 2 different WTF clubs: 1 in East Acton called St. Katherine's TKD club (head instructor: Master Sargeant 5th Dan) and I run a club in my University, Imperial College London in South Kensington. Both of these clubs are non-profit organisations and my master and I teach as a hobby, ie. we don't get paid for it. Send me a private message if you would like more info about the clubs.

I think you found a Choi Kwang Do club in Sutton. I haven't got a clue about Choi kwang Do but I hope it's better than your old club.

Take care

I want to compleate what I started, I had a taser of Hapkido from some guys I knew also had a taste of Nunchku or Song Jal Con as it is said in Korea...they hurt when they hit your head.

Its like having your pride shot down...or is that too dramtic?
