Misc. Facts Thread

Ok, so here's a thread for us to post any miscellaneous facts that we know to be true, i'll start off with a few:

- if you do circles in the air in front of a dog, it'll follow them with his/her head and get dizzy

- knives with inverted edges(bread knives i think) are better than normal kitchen/eating knives, at cutting cheese, especially soft cheese

-if you strike at something made of fabric that's hung from somewhere(like curtains, drying clothes, etc) it'l wrap around whatever hit it, hence one of my fist sigs, never side kick a curtain

let's see what else we can dig up

-all matter, no matter its weight, falls at the same acceleration weight if in a zero vacuum(why, because air friction would slow down an object with more volume)
-when it comes to the colors of light red and green make yellow

when painting red, yellow, and blue are primary colours and cannot be created by mixing other colours.

Is that true? Makes sense but I thought bullets stayed in the air longer.

It would depend on the aerodynamic characteristics of a travelling bullet. IT might have extra lift because of some quirk in the way it moves through the air.

In a vacuum it would be true for sure.

New Fact: When Polar Bears hunt, they cover their noses with one paw to stop them showing up against the snow.

Ohh... polar bears have black skin, this is so they attract the rays of the sun, their white fur helps keep the heat on thier skin

The largest hailstone ever found was 25cm's long and 14cm's wide

Flies don't have lungs, they have a very complete breathingsystem with airpipes through their entire body to get the oxigen distributed properly.

You can't really use 1 square cm of any vegetable as a weapon..
