Live Gamelan for Kembangan in Camden

Dear pesilat,

Over the weekend my friends in the Sekar Gedhogan Gamelan Orchestra and I had a wonderfull experience of Wales. We were invited to perform a Java shadow puppet play (wayang kulit), and I had chosen a popular story full of battles, which I shortened and told in English. The venue was a stroytelling festival in a beautiful castle by the sea called St Donat's.

Yesterday me had a talk about how we want to develop the gamelan orchestra and I offered the idea of practising for and with pesilat doing kembangan. My gamelan group are really up for it. This will help the gamelan players and also silat prayers. Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to invite all pesilat to come and practise kembangan with the Sekar Gedhogan Gamelan Orchestra this Sunday, July 10 2005, to meet in front of Kalimantan Creations in the Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, Camden. Nearest tube, Chalk Farm Road, Northern Line. Buses 31, 24, 27, 168 and others. I would like to practise enough to invite the public to enjoy kembangan from different silat schools and styles all performed with live gamelan, for celebrations for Indonesia's Independence. So I am beginning by every Sunday evening.
