[Tang Soo Do] 32nd Annual American TSD Assoc. Championship

Once again Grand Master Byrne had a very well run event, it was great to get the chance to see many of the American Tang SooDo Association members again like my friend Andy Cap, (who actually was center judge in my Ring) and have a chance to make new friends, and see old friends from other organizations. I took some good pictures of Grand Master Byrne doing his New World Record Elbow Break, Had some good conversation with Master Tate from Canada, and yes Master Tate I will be sending the photos I have for you as soon as you e-mail me your new address, haha. Always a pleasure to see Master Lee and Anika (sp)Master Lee brought 14 competetors from Holland Tang Soo Do, it was a pleasure to see my friends from Holland again and make some new friends as well, It would have been nice to get revenge on Maurice for last year and beat him during Grand Champion Sparring ,but Maartin had other ideas and took me 3-2 for 1st place, bumping me from Grands for the first time in 5yrs , Maartin I hope your foot is not sore after that insane 6 board instep break, ouch. beautiful break though. I did manage to win both my chil son division with Hwa Sun and regular forms division with Kong Sang Koon. So two Gold and a Silver is not too shabby . And yes I did sleep in my Van , the little bed is very cosy, I watched Butterfly Sword and Return to Horror High on my DVD player and most of my meals came from my cooler, it cut down alot on the costs and made more of a camping trip out of it, well, urban camping anyway. So it was a great time and I hope to see everyone again soon.

Tang Soo!

Hey TSRed -

It was great to see you again. It was also a great honor to officiate for you and the other gentlemen in your division. A very respectful and sincere group of people. You had some tough competition there for sure. Those Holland boys sure did come to the tourney with a purpose, didn't they? Instep front kick through 6 boards, and the boards were just a bunch of junk he was able to gather that very morning. One heck of a break - ouch is right.

The fighting was great to watch - you had some real talent in your division, and you did very well by my estimation. In the future if you need a place to crash, get in touch with me - we have a spare room at the house and would be delighted to have you over for some dinner, and you could sleep in a full size bed - lol. We may even let you use the shower. I work weekends, so i am not certain when I will be able to break out and see people at an even t again, but hopefully it won't be an entire year.

Sounds like a very good tournament. I sure would like to see some of you guys compete some day. It's always a pleasure to meet some new practitioners with a bit of experience under their belt...... 6 boards with an instep? No thank you hehe.

No doubt Psi - I have been going to this tourney for 27 years and have never seen anyone get more than a bloody nose, and GM Byrne makes certain that the judges all know the rules and stick to them. I am biased of course, but I think it is a very good tourney.

That is great news. I felt terrible after having him break the remaining wood. I just fealt that the poor guy had come all the way from Holland, he should get to break the wood even if he is not goin to win. My brother Mstr. White is taking them sightseeing around Mass.

Great break. He's pretty buff for a grand master. Usually you hear the phrase and think "old Chinese guy with white beard", not "can benchpress 350". Pretty cool. I know I'd get intimidated hehe.

Damn Red now you got me singing the song, and it is bed time. I will be dreaming about badgers, mushrooms, and snakes - lol. I actually have another avatar where the snakes and mushrooms pop up too. I didn't inflict MAP with it. I do see some other people are using my avatar now though.

They could use that in psychological warfare. Have a POW and play it for days on a big video screen and blasting on the stereo system nonstop. See if he goes mad. o.O
