    Hey,

I'm looking for good, comfortable tabi socks. I have a pair from Playwell here in the UK, and they are the horrible nylon-heavy mix. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a source for cotton-rich ones.

Having re-read that paragraph, I'm an expecting a lot of people to take the p*ss out of this question... :D

    Cheers,

    Dan

I'm sure Mr. K found a good site (actually for 'sandal socks', but that's basically what Tabi are anyway). Scunnered if I can remember the link tho :p

Some of my students have recently ordered from here. They are the exact same ones I normally bring back from Japan (the little shop in Atago) so quality is good.

I know what you mean about those nylon-rich socks, horrible black things that make you sweat. I think you'll be much happier with this type.

If you do remember, I'd love to hear about it!

I've been Googling, and there are lots of US outfits that seem to sell them online, but I haven't found anywhere this side of the pond yet.

    Many thanks,

    Dan

IF anyone is interested, Tabis Online also have an eBay shop.

Soon I shall be comfortable! :D

    Thanks for the help all.

    Cheers,

In Tokyo there is a 'Museum of Japanese Socks (Tabi)' it is somewhere near Ryogoku station. I spotted it on the 'you are here' map where it is highlighted as an attraction... although I have to say I wasn't tempted. Has anyone been to it?

the problem with tabi socks is after you launder them sorting out the l's and r's, nightmare! as such i often wear them inside out etc. lol.

more often i wear normal socks and tuck the toe bit in.

but those ones from atago are good and cheap as for 5 pairs.

Those would be the ones. Everyone seems to make a trip to that tabi store in Nodashi by Atago station. Usually, its before the next stop, which is the Saizeriya. ;)
