The promoters by taking the audience's money and the fight still never happens!
Shamrock was one of the best ever, but he's been in the ring once in about five years and Eric Pardoe (sp) isn't exactly top competition. Cesar's never fought MMA before, but he trains high level competitors including Stefan Bonnar and has assisted with Chuck Liddell's training as well in the past. It's tough to make a pick, but if Shamrock's been training the way he says he's been training, I'm going with Frank by decision

I had the honor of training with Frank about a week ago, and he looked like he was in much better shape then his fight with Pardoe. He was at about 195 lbs and as ripped as you've ever seen him. He mentioned more then once that he's training very hard for this fight and it's still over 2 months away. I personally think Frank's going to win a dominate decision, but as you said Cesar has taught and trained with some of the best; so who knows, he might be able to pull it off.

I thought the Shamrock vs Cesar fight was just a hoax?

Not according to Frank. I heard it from his own lips.

No disrespect meant to Frank, but he says a lot of things. I'm still waiting for the fight against Sakuraba to materialise. This fight with Cesar's been "in the works" for years, amounting to lots of excuses, wars of words over internet forums and speculation. It's got the potential to be a good fight, but I'll believe it's happening when I see them both in the cage and the bell rings

The fight is scheduled for Oct. 1st at the San Jose Civic auditorium. Scott Coker, the promoter of K-1 USA is the promoter. Unless there is some major training injury, the fight will happen. It's for real.

I've trained with both men in the past, but it's been a long time since I worked out with Cesar Gracie. If he has not evolved and tries to fight the "trad. Gracie way" (which I'm sure he has evolved), he won't have much of a chance against Frank. Both are excellent fighters, but I see this as Frank's fight to win or loose. If Frank makes a major mistake, Cesar is good enough to take advantage of it. Overall, I feel Frank is a much better fighter, though.

Thats what I had heard as well; but the last i'd heard was it they were very close to signing the fight. Then it all seemed to go hush hush.

I've heard rumors of this in the past also, but I'm pretty sure it's for real this time. I guess we'll see what unfolds in October.

Any particular reason why?

Anyway this is very hard to make a prediction on because Cesar has never fought in MMA however he has a top camp with top class guys. And in my opinion his camp is the best Gracie camp going at the moment. I know Cesar is going to be the underdog in this fight but I am still going with him.

It seems that Ceasar Gracie will be training with Carlson Gracie for his fight against Shamrock...

Frank Shamrock is strong in all ranges of fighting and has lots of experience...Anything can happen, but odds are in Shamrocks corner. I think Ceasar will put up a great battle so Frank will have to put him down...Just my feeling..

Looks like the Shamrock vs Gracie fight has been put back to November sometime.

Apparently the reason is the California State Athletic Commission has postponed all fights until they have decided whether or not to adopt Pride rule set.
