Langkah clips?

Hi there

I'm a hung gar kung fu student so forgive me if my use of language is confusing or perhaps even insulting (although I hope not!!). That is down to my ignorance only.

I am particularly interested in learning about silat/kuntao langkahs. These seem to be footwork drills and initially trained as a separate entity to jurus (upper body drills). Obviously, these combine at a later stage of training.

My reason for showing interest is that I believe that much of the "stepping" within CMA forms has a definite combat purpose that sometimes gets overlooked. I think langkahs (the way I understand them) make the student focus on the combat applicability of footwork so that this is built into the attack/defence techniques through time.

I think this approach would seem to have a lot of merits but I can't seem to find any footage of langkahs in order to understand how these are done?

Can anyone help with some video clip links?

Paul

I don't know that I've seen any Langkah clips on the net. Most of what I've seen are Jurus clips.

Hi Paul you should check out Jim Kilpatrick he teaches Silat Lincah in Glasgow on a Monday and Wednesday night. Langkah is a large part of the training. If you are interested here is a link to the website on which you will find Jim's contact details:

I couldn't find those clips either..

I'm constantly looking for them, but my search results always ended at some Jurus' and Hormats.

I guess the lanka's are just to different from each style (however they compare at each move)
