Got to commend you for your optimism. You're the first person I've met who says playing with a guy holding a 12" hunting knife is fun.
Two of the three I met did. The other one had a syringe. They all had two or three buddies helping them out.
my sister was mugged once by a guy who punched her in the face, no knife, no mates, you cant generalise a mugger.
What? This is the Ninjutusu forum, I thought jokes at others' expense were as expected as a new association springing up in an Alabama trailer park.
I like the variety of things taught in ninpo, and its unorthodox approach towards certain things. I like how the mindset is so completely different that people in other MA have no idea what they are seeing. I find it funny that the stupid cliche that people outside of the art "dont get it" actually makes sense after training for a while. Kind of like my obsession with old BMWs. Once you own one and race one, then maybe you can understand the sexiness of an otherwise old, boxy, dirty piece of machinery.
the traditional ninjitsu is based on mental training increasing the senses, ninjitsu is a japanese art, so karate has its place, but a well thought out anatomy of karate, extreme points to strike such as the throat, techniques from karate an akido are incorporated as well as acrobatics and meditation as i said before along with weapon skills and strategy, ninjitsu teaches how the body is bult balanced and the anatomy and also how to destroy it, breaking necks etc... this is done by controlling the hips and spine to use the opponent against himself, also i must stress this point in ninjitsu the ninja also uses the weight of his body in conjunction with locks and throws and acrobatics to break limbs, you could say it is a extremely damging style of elevated akido , along with many other techniques for disabling or killing a enemy, if you understand the theory of sphericity in akido it has it applications in ninjitsu also, but akido does not damage the enemy ninjitsu does, not that akido can not it is just based on non agression
*pulls up a chair* Beer anyone? Right who's going first? anyone? Chof you might want to install update thickskin v1 for the duration of the thread.
SHINING BALL Ninpo is a total system, not only one part of martial art and not only physical techniques; all spiritual world and all technical world with physical world and I would say in fact everything is included. Manners are most important throughout this martial art. In the world today, almost no manners are taught anymore. In the school no manners are taught, parents don't teach manners, kids don't listen to parents or others when manners are taught. Only in the Dojo, where true traditional martial arts are taught, true manners are taught. Next important thing is, good mannered persons can use good techniques without using for killing purpose. These true techniques are dangerous, so having a good heart is very important. A student will only use the techniques for self-defence purpose and for helping another person. The true Ninja is never saying or showing that he is a Ninja. He is behaving as a usual person. Only in emergency times for the world he will come out and defence and create for peace, after peace disappear. So what I'm doing now is not being Ninja, I'm a Ninpo martial artist. Now is emergency time for traditional Japanese martial art Ninpo. So I have to create again and clean up what is the true traditional martial art as a part of the Japanese culture. Sports martial art is good for health and Ki (energy) too. Traditional martial art is not so exciting because only pain and no title-matches and one must be very patient. It takes a long time before mastering everything. Most persons don't like this and have no patience until success but time will come. Of course this is very hard because one have to save lives and have to defend against assassins. Assassin is a killer-specialist, so how to defend against without hard training ? Most important thing, keep going any way, even sports martial arts, doesn't matter. Keep going and you can understand what is your purpose and mission. If you can find out this, then you are a true martial artist and you can do service for society in the world. You are happy and can die with happiness. My mission is spiritual together with martial arts. As a martial artist how to guide and introduce the spiritual world. This is my mission. TANEMURA SHOTO SENSEI
