Yes look at it now, it still has white, yellow, green, blue, red & black with a 1/1 white 1/2 black for a Jr BB under 13. Remember that anyone can feel free to change anything they want, but one must be intellectully honest & at least realize that at some point, the changes made result in a changed product, which some may not even recgonize it by that name. Within any organization, art, style or school change can & possibly should happen. However there is usually an internal change mechanisim that establishes & authorizes said changes. Never has the Chang Hon founder ever authorizes any changes other then those listed above. Brown was taken out deacdes ago, maybe 5 decades ago! btw They had competitions since at least the early 60s
Usually to make money, some disguise it by saying to help motivate & retain students, same thing to me. The original colors for the TKD belts came from traditional colors in Korean history. See the Korean Tourism Organization logo & you will see what I mean. The are 10 grades or gup levels & 9 BB dan or degree levels. There are 6 colors, white, yellow, green, blue, red & black, with a Jr BB defined as under 13 & limited to only 1st degree is a 1/2 white & 1/2 black belt. The color scheme for the belts was devised by Choi Hong Hi & Kang Yon Ho. All of these colors have meanings, as does the reason why there are only 10 grades & 9 dan levels.
