Hello there!!!

I've was wondering if you have any advice-

1. My homepage keeps getting hijacked by various search engines and even when I change the internet options, the next time I go on-line it's bacjk again (something like "search-space.com" or "cool-web search").

Any idea of how I can get rid of this permanently and set the homepage to MARTIALARTSPLANET!!!! (ofcourse)

2. Also whenever I connect my bookmarks get added to by some sites that I have no intention of visiting. Again, I erase these but they come back and won't leave me alone!!!

Any idea of how I can get rid of this permanently?

Oh yeah, I've also got Spyware Nuker, but that (if it has any effect) doesn't do the job long term.

Any advice? (apart from not visting such esoteric websites:D )

Much appreciated

Have you tried running Search & Destroy?

Sounds like you have:

A bad case of Spyware. Use the link Yoda posted. Update it first.

A Virus thats Hijacking your homepage.

If you have AntiVirus, Update it and run it. If not, go to www.grisoft.com and download AVG

Or

Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp and run the free online scan. Both this and AVG are temporary fixes for Antivirus solutions, get some decent software in if you don't already have it.

Brilliant, thanks very much!!!

Let my preface this question with the statement that - "I AM NOT STUPID"

Are there many other sites where you can download helpful "computer stuff" (it's the technical term... YOU probably just havent heard it before) for free?

Cheers again!

http://download.com

http://download.net

Just filter out 'non-free' stuff.

A word of advice - don't get carried away and use half your memory downloading!!

Oh yeah, forgot to ask-

What word should replace the word "stuff" to make this sentence correct. (I think its "programme" but not sure)

Cheers.

Stuff is a perfectly fine word :D

Programs or tools would be what you're looking for though.

Another problem-

The Search and Destroy thing has been downloaded but wont open; I click on the icon and it is as if the window is going to open but it just closes again before I can do anything.

Thanks very much.

www.astalavista.com and http://neworder.box.sk are both good resources for free AV software and whatnot.
