Ok guys I understand that you keep ads BUT not on every page, c'mon..... pop-ups like a hotel discount are comin' up all the time.Oh c'mon how many do you think will take that seriously. It will be easier if you can cut down the number of ads.

I just get bored with people whining about adverts. If they don't want them, then they can pay for the service. Personally I'd prefer to be irritated than spending money any day.

Sorry about the pop ups they annoy me too but unfortunately its what pays for the site. A necessary evil you might say.

Ah boy! Hey we go again. This is one of the only sites I actually don't mind the popups. You know they make a disc that actually stops them , for those who want to invest.

Well, they don't bother me...... I don't think.........I mean; do they:confused:

I'm actually impressed that they've kept it to only one popup per page at most, sometimes none. Good work Cooler, and thanks.

you know what, since i started reading in this thread, I started to notice. On the computer I'm using right now, I'm not getting any pop-ups. I mean, I have before, but right now it's just not happening. Thanx, who ever made it stop.

hmmm, wonder how long it'll last..............................

Occasionally you get them, occasionally you don't, it depends on the advertisers.

It'll also probably mean the site goes down, as will the internet, and a large part of the planet as the paranoid people with buttons all press them. Then us martial artists will take over and rule the world.

lets NUKE away then

A less disruptive option is to right-click on the popup window, get the server name, and put it, then 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file (usually in %systemroot%\system32 [Yes, I know it looks strange, but that path will work, trust me])

Long explanation: When resolving addresses, your computer first looks at the host file, then the local cache, then finally to whatever it has registered as a DNS server. 127.0.0.1 is the local loopback address for the TCP/IP protocol stack, so the pop-up reaches your local machine, and unless you're running a web service like ISS or Apache off the box you browse on, there's nothing there.

Short explanation: That particular pop-up will not bother you. When a different one comes up, lather, rinse, and repeat.
