Bag gloves

My instructor suggested I get boxing gloves for our free sparring class. I am curios what the difference is between heavy bag gloves, training gloves and boxing gloves are if there is a difference? Can you use heavy bag gloves to spar with? Thanks in advance for your help.

bag gloves have a seperate non padded thumb and are usualy 4-6 oz and dont offer as much padding around the wrist

sparring gloves come in 6 - 18oz and have attached padded thumb

you are best getting a pair of 10oz sparring gloves for pads and bags (as usualy you will fight in this oz, depending on experience and your weight) which will get you used to the weight
and a pair of 16oz gloves for sparring in.
