I know I've posted a few times already, but never took the time out to introduce myself. Brad's the name, Bujinkan's the school. I have been involved in the martial arts for about 24 years, the last 20 mainly, but not exclusively, in the Bujinkan. I'm also and aircraft mechanic working on White House support aircraft. I'm studying computers, and when I'm not training or working I like to read. If it's fiction, it's Dean Koontz. Non-fiction, it can be anything from philosphy to architecture (Japanese) and art.

Hello...... my name is Andy, I have been training JKDC under Master Yoda since about March/April this year. Unfortunately due to a knee injury, I have had to miss out the past 2 months, but now (Last night) I started to train again............... and god can't my body feel it today!!
I got into MA due to an admiration of a certain Mr Lee. I always wanted to learn more about his way of thinking/training etc.. Until one day I searched down a local JKD club, and started training there (Combative Edge Academy) If you are in the area (Manchester/Liverpool/St Helens) it's definitely worth popping in, and train with Yoda!! A book of MA knowledge!!! :D
Other than MA, I am a huge Liverpool fan, and have been playing football all my life.
So these days, I spend my time training MA, playing football and going the gym!.................. A saving for my wedding next year!!
If you want to know anything else, please feel free to ask!

Hi....my names Paul. I've been into the arts for around ten years now. Had a go at Thai, Karate, Kickboxing, Aiki-Jitsu and Eskrima. For the last eight years I've been studying Kickboxing, Aiki-Jitsu and Eskrima.
Two years ago my sensei left our club and Myself and Fellow student Kieran had to take over the club. Since then we focused on cross training martial arts. In other words mixing kickboxing, thai boxing, locking, throwing and stick work together.
Around two months ago I met Yoda for the first time as was blown away firstly by his skill both armed and armed. Secondly was how practical and useable his teachings were. Something Kieran and I feel very highly is it techniques have to be practical, painful, damaging and most of all useable.
Since then Yoda has taken Kieran and me under his wing as Candiate Instructors and affiliated our club with his CEA. So our club is now the Combative Edge Academy Torbay.
Under Yoda we're now learning Doce Pares Eskrima (our former training was in Budo Eskrima) and JKD. We're now getting the chance to learn grappling and ground fighting and the infamous head butt/knee/elbow drill.
Hopefully in time to come you'll start to hear lots more about us and see us at a few seminars :D now we've been taken out of our little bubble where all we ever knew was our old sensei and all he would allow us to know.

Started TKD in 1996 after a 3rd degree friend kicked around about the head after a disagreement. I was so impressed with his control at height and genreral attitude I decided to enrol.
After recieving gradings from Master L Hutchinson VII I got caught in one of those "political" disagreements and out club left the BITF
Open reching black tag I decided to stop floating and joined a UKTA club at my University. One international win later I decided to grade under Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha IX in 2000.
Since then I've been to many seminars with Grandmaster Rhee and also have had the pleasure of been at a seminar with the now late General Choi. I've attained Umpire class B and Instructor class C to date and am training for my II Dan in March...bring on the brick.
I teach at Heriot-Watt University and when I can try to attend Tin-Tin's classes (although I've been way too slack recently). I've also been involved in some open martial arts competitons under the WUMA organisation which was an experience I can tell you!!!
In all I enjoy most aspects of MA (appart from TT grabbing my Tendons eek: )
It woz that lot that made me come here.....so far I've enjoyed what I've read. everybody here seems really interested in learning rather than just blabbering on and on and on...blah...blah...blah..
Oh. Time to stop now!
Cheers
Nathan

Hi & welcome Joe Karate :D
Seems an odd name for a guy into Shaolin Kempo & Wrestling :p
Hi,
I'm from Australia and just recently completed high school. As soon as I turn 18, I'll be doing some security work, along with University (looking to study computer science / science). I've done some chito ryu karate, then I turned away from martials arts for 5 years while I played basketball. I was only picking fights, so I thought I should start MA. :D I did freestyle kickboxing, which incorporated some aikido, which made me realise how poor my grappling was, and to learn how to grapple! I'm currently doing BJJ and I'm looking to start krava maga next year as well.
I'm a strong advocate of cross training and becoming well-rounded. :) I really lack knowledge of weapons, so with some weapons work, I'd feel much more secure than what I do currently.

Hi Bon
Good to have you here mate - looking forward to your input again.
Thanks, YODA!
TkdWarrior, I don't really know as my knowledge on weapons is very limited.. I've done some basic stick fighting, not much, that's cool though. Anything that will help me with self defense interests me. :)
Hey dudes, I just registered myself here so I thought I'd best say hi. I'm Luke (or CK, I dont really mind). Been doing ju-jitsu for two years, and started doing "shootfighting" in september. Its really cool. So who are you guys?... :)

Raizan
15-Dec-2002, 02:56 AM
Hello! My name is Raizan (real name Marc) and I am 26 years old. I am recently engaged, (to a VERY beautiful girl that I've been friends with since I was 11 years old) and I work as a substance abuse counselor in the Illinois Department of Corrections. I train in Ninjutsu, combat Sambo, and Kum-Do, and hopefully this summer I will realize my dream and fight in the Shooto organization. My journey into martial arts is actually kind of bizarre. I started training in Karate when I was 8 because I was terrified of Mr. Han from "Enter The Dragon." In my little kid mind, I was unable to separate fiction and reality, and I knew that someday I would fight this guy, and I didn't want what happened to Jim Kelly to happen to me! I enjoy martial arts, and so does my fiance, who will be taking her black belt test in Tae Kwon Do next month. I believe in the viability of traditional martial arts, even though I am more of a mixed martial artist. I came here because i knew i could find people who shared in my beliefs...unlike those in that "other" forum. I also post on the Kazushi Sakuraba fan forum, and I am a big fan of Bruce Lee. If I manage to get to Japan, I'll try to stop by the Takada Dojo and get Sakuraba's autograph!

Well seeming as I am new here I better introduce myself somewhat.
My name is Craig. I’m 24 I studied Kyokushin kai when I was in Primary School,
Shotokan in High. And studied Judo for 2 years during uni. After stopping training in Judo I put on a lot of weight, which I am still struggling to get rid of (lost 15 kilo’s so far.) I have always had a keen interest in Martial Arts and I am in the process of looking at what and most importantly who is available in my area.
Other than martial arts I love to read mostly fiction works especially Terry Pratchett. I am also an avid movie buff and just can’t get enough of Monty Python *nudge nudge, wink wink*.
I will leave it here for now and hopefully talk to you all later

thanks waya,
I beleive the Aikido school has closed down recently as the sensei lost his job with the meat work closure .
There are several TKD schools (in the proccess of checking them out.) any info on the Hapkido school would be apreciated as I haven't heard of one in this area.
What is Hwa Rang Do??? I haven't heard of this style before I don't think.
