I've just signed up to this forum, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name's Tim and I live in Essex, England. I'm 18 years old, and I've studied a little bit of Karate and Chow Gar Kung Fu. However, I currently study the art of Tang Sou Dao.

Tang Sou Dao, for those who don't know of it (it's not a very famous art) is an adaptation of the Korean art of Tang Soo Do which includes some kung fu techniques. The man who adapted it is Grandmaster Meng Kwong Loke, who currently teaches near my home town. I find Tang Sou Dao works well for my build, as I am tall and thin (6 feet, 162 lbs).

So what styles do you all do?

Hi there TST - I saw some of your posts first, and thought you had an alternative spelling, but now I've seen your bio I know better.

I'm a relative newcomer (at the age of 40+) to martial arts, and study Tang Soo Do in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. Enjoying it, but I'm only able to train once a week - so everything is slow going.

We also do weapons training, Chul Bong / Tanto / Tonfa / and my namesake Jang Bong (appologies for any drifting of languages and spelling errors). We have also been issued with our own walking sticks - not because the training is so dangerous, but to learn to use them as a weapon.

Enjoy your arts, and see you around on MAP
