Sorry if this has been covered, but my search on "stance" and/or "southpaw" did not come up with much....

I've heard something like 80% of strikes are with the forward limb (nearest to opponent). Hence Bruce Lee switching to a southpaw stance. But doesn't your power come mostly from your back leg? So a right foot forward (traditionally southpaw) stance uses the weak leg to generate the power. What do you think about this?

There is a reason that boxers and kickboxers generally fight non-dominate side forward ;)

Of course I am a right handed south paw :D But I do more then just punch and kick....

There is a thread on this in the CKD forum as well, might want to read that too.

From what i've heard/read is that B.Lee preferred to keep his strongest leg closest to the opponent... and Yes, the rear leg is definatly more powerful... but it's also the most obvious to see the attack, so he himself would only use it in a sure hit situation.

That was him though :) So you may find it easier and more efficent and benificial to use your rear leg more...

Experiment alittle, find what works well for you then build on it :)
