Strange word, is it a button, or a drop-down menu? If its just a button, right-click on the toolbar and you can usually select not to display it. To get complete rid of it, not sure, depends on what it is related too.

IF right clicking on the bar doesnt work, try 'Add remove programs' in controls panel. Then search in the Registry for it.

Somebody took it upon themselves to install something called 'Hotbar' on my PC (no, it has nothing to do with porn :D - that I know of anyway)
Anyway, I tried uninstalling this many times, did not work. In the end I deleted the DLL's, then the registry complained. In the end I used software called RegVac to clean the corrupt entries from the registry.
A good tip is to uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" to stop these things from trying to install. The only toolbar I like using is the Google toolbar

Along the lines of what Mordred said. If you are installing something and it gives you the option the "express install" or something similar, don't do it. By doing that, the only thing you usually skip is the box to uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions".
