OK, I've always had natrually strong a large quads. I can generate a ton of power with my right leg and after each training session my shin is bruised up from knee to ankle... but my left leg is a different story I'm lucky if I bruise up more than the middle of the shin after training, I know both legs are equally strong so my problem lies in technique.

Today I trained a bit with my sparring partner and (he is a rookie too) he was kind of coaching me or telling me when my left started to land harder and after a bit of practice I was getting into rythim in hitting harder with the left, but would easily fall back out of it.

I guess my question is, how can I "loosen" up my left leg or get the same kind of impact/power I do as with my right? Of course practice makes perfect and I am not looking for any shortcuts by any means, I just want a little advice since I'm kind of training on my own right now.

Kick 5 times more on left than right leg.

Most people have a better leg, if you want your non dominant one to catch up you need to train it far more. At the beggining of this year I used my left leg, the bad one, exclusively for 2 months. Now it's better than my right.

Also...

Read the flexbility sticky posts and do the stretches.

technique

kicking strength doesn't depend on the muscles on the kicking leg as much as it does on how effectively you can move your whole weight into it with your supporting leg, hips and core, plus hat you do with your arms and head for balance.

so yeah, do a crapton of kicks with your left

There's not secrets, you have to kick more with your left leg.
