Yes, but for distance.

I do wear them but not in the Dojo. It's common sense.

I wear them all the time, except for sleeping, swimming, and sporting activities where they might be broken (eg, TKD)

I wear contacts, occaisonally I will wear my glasses at the kwoon, but not during group class or tech practice. Probably when I am lifting, running, practicing solo are the only times I will wear them.

I need them for things middle distance away, 20m- 30m, but not all the time, very rarely in fact, so I put No.

I don't wear my glasses in the dojo. Both my prescriptions, reading and distance, are mild, so the absence of the glasses doesn't affect my performance in class.

I wear mine all day, in all activities (even sparring, if I want to see my opponent :) )
Just got a new prescription for glasses, and I invested in a $50 pair of Wal-Mart sports glasses--high density polycarbonate lenses in flexible heavy plastic frames, soft rubbery cushions at the nose and temple, sport strap around the back of the head). I'll let you know how they work, when they come in.

I wear contacts. I have the ones that you can wear for 30 days without taking them out at all. (I hate waking up an not being able to see!)
I want to get that laser eye surgery done, but I want to make sure it's perfected before I do so. Not to mention, it's expensive.

I use them so I don't crash when I'm driving, to read the white/black board in lectures and to read bus numbers at a distance ;)

Well if it makes you feel better I need glasses, and I don't know if I should get contacts or glasses. So, I'm just seeing what you guys do if you have glasses to help me chose glasses or just get contacts.

For a year's worth, it's about $250.
You can wear them for 30 days straight. They're made from a material that's supposed to "breathe". I love them!

Hey, if that's what the poll and the thread are about...go for the contacts. Especially if you're under 25 -- enjoy looking good while you still can :)
I got my walmart sport goggles. so far I love 'em--just use them for sparring. They don't slip/slide around when I'm moving, like regular glasses. Makes me look mean, too (or like a big fly, I can't decide which).

I wear mine under my mask for sparring and sometimes even when Im doing maskless sparring. Not to terribly wise I know, but hey train how you want to fight and I want to fight with my glasses because well with out them I might as well curl upand die.

Thanks a lot for all your help, I'm gonna try to get contacts. Let's just see if I'm any good at stuffing things in my eyes.

I have a real light prescription for my left eye because it is a bit blurry for reading furigana and seeing distance (think digital clocks). Other than that I'm fine. I got a pair of frames from Sam's Club too :o

That is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the post.
Occasionally I get kicked in the head during sparring. I have been using my safety glasses from work, but they still get bent up.
Do you have a problem with them fogging up?
