is this a good idea ? At first I was also going to add Insanity to the combo, but someone said that would be over training. So Now I am just planning on doing Bas Ruttens MMA Workout Tape 6 times a week, and following the P90x classic schedule on those 6 days. Would this mess up muscle confusion, and is there any negative or positive points on doing this.

ALSO NOTE, I AM DOING THIS FOR MARTIAL ARTS NOT WEIGHT LOSING.

Thanks ! :)

Well...I know nothing of Bas's dvd set. I can only imagine its hardcore like he is.

Im currently on the last two weeks of, the p90x workout. That being said, I believe p90x may be enough, because if you aren't struggling with it, you aren't using enough weight/doing enough reps etc. To me p90x is great on its own. That doesn't mean everyone else likes it. :)

If the classic workout is cake for you, increase your weight, and try the doubles routine.

lol bas's tapes are pretty intense, they are bout 30 minutes long each, but I wanted to still incorporate martial arts training, so I thought I should put in bas's tape. And, P90x is pretty intense for me, but I wanted to make sure if I do Bas ruttens tapes, it won't affect muscle confusion or anything. He basically calls out different boxing combo's, knees, pushups, situps, kneck exercises, lunges etc... for 30 minutes. So it gets rlly intense.

I have one more question, is the classic version of p90x just for muscle building ? would it be bad for sports, or martial arts to become bulky (I do 12-50 sometime 20 reps of weight lifting exercises for lean muscle) ? Should I do the lean or the doubles instead ?
This might be a rlly dumb question, but I wanna make sure.
Thanks

Well, Tony Horton makes it clear both in the booklets, and the dvds..

for muscle building do approx. 8-10 reps of higher weight. For leaner toning/firming, do less weight higher reps..for the body weight exercises, he shows modifications to make it more difficult. Im about to start grappling, and may do the p90 routine again when this one is done. I couldnt imagine doing p90, Bas's dvd's, and a martial art a few days a week lol! It would kill me..

I started with the classic to feel the system out, I like it, although some things are VERY hard for me.
