YouTube- OKINAWA in the 1930's

sorry, no karate stuff (hence placing it here)

footage found via Patrick Mccarthy sensei's youtube account.

the channel itself ( http://www.youtube.com/user/tcorrao ) appears to be all or mostly about okinawa, including several karate videos for those interested.

Interesting stuff. Every once in a while they will find a gem of old footage tucked away in some archive. Many times no one will the connection if they are disconnected from the martial arts world... so I can really appreciate finds like this.

When little gems like this turn-up I tend to find myself checking the minutia, such as what people are wearing, what sort of surfaces do they have to walk on, what is the availability of natural light and so forth. Things like this tend to shape how people deal with each other in confrntations as well as shape techniques if things come to combat. FWIW.

Best Wishes,

Bruce
