Well, since there seems to be an entire forum of this board set up for it, I figured I may as well hop on the bandwagon and introduce myself.

I'm 17. Live in NJ but I'm close enough to Philadelphia that I can say (wishfully thinking) that I live there. Been training in TKD for about 7 years, got my bb about 3 years ago. Just this week quit at my former school and started training at a new school. They're letting me keep my rank, but if I want to test for 2nd dan, first I'll have to test in their system for my black belt first. The new school (which I guess is my current school, now, but it's kinda hard to convince myself of that after 7 years) is about 60/40 TKD and Hapkido.

My parents aren't big on the fact I didn't outgrow my fixation on martial arts. Not feminine enough for my dad and my mom's just nervous about me getting hurt. I, on the other hand, can't imagine life *without* training.

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Welcome!

Don't worry too much what your parents think, most of us girls have similar experiences at some point. Mine hated me starting Karate, and now they're just glad I can defend myself.

odd, welcome!

Made a decision as to university yet? Maybe start a thread about martial arts clubs in universities and colleges?

Best wishes with your training.
