i have been using the scissor clamp for a long time in olah raga but is there any practical use for the scissor clamp in self-defence. I mean oke you get the apponent down very easy but when you are on the ground how do you go from there? maby some harimau specialists uot there with their ground game whom have some tips? or some guys whom practice vovinam? or any other martial art?

It is a beautiful move.
but its more like a leg bar or something.
i don't know if If you are familiar with the scissors in Pencak Silat?
it's more a takedown of the Entire Body of the apponnent.

I am familiar with it. That's why I called the move in the video I posted a "variation".

What I did learn in Silat was to go for the legs after a scissors. Highly unexpected and most people don't know how to protect their legs.

I think that the best option since you're too far away for any good fist or elbow techniques.
