The IgNoble awards are awarded either for scientific experiments or research that should never be repeated, or have been performed in the first place, or for scientific research that promotes science in simple terms to the public.

Unfortunately they never bother categorizing which is which.

Nothing in particular just some of the stupid research projects that people finance and they get them published.

What's that they say about a fool and his money?

Actually I posted this to make CKD smile about bloody useless science. Did it work, CKD Baby? Have you chilled out a little?

Yep. :) Although actually there's a few scientists who've received IgNobel prizes whom I truly respect. For example there's the author of 'How to Dunk a Donut', Len Fisher.

www.darwinawards.com is another good one, encouraging to know that stupidity isn't the survival trait it sometimes seems to be.
