I have a few friends that have done it. I am thinking about buying it as well. It seems from what little research ive done, that if you stick to it, follow the diet and everything, it works. If you pick and choose what you like, from the exercises etc..you will be disappointed.

I do P90X as supplementary to other workouts and I like it. My buddy is doing the strict program and is on Week 8. He started at 189lbs on Week 1 and is now at 158lbs on wk8.

Y'all aren't considering abandoning your unarmed styles in favor of Kenpo-X (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42-d96t20r8), are you?

I find Tony Horton pretty annoying, but it's a decent set of workouts. I've never bothered following the actual programme, but sometimes when I can't be bothered to go to the gym or go for a run, I'll put on one of the DVDs.
A friend of mine just sent me the first workout from Shaun Ts Insanity to test out (also by Beach Body) - he reckons that it's much tougher than the P90X cardio workouts. I've only tried the very first workout on Insanity, and it sure had me winded. Not decided if I'm gonna splash out on the full set (damned things are pricey), but I didn't find Shaun T as annoying as Horton.

I've been reading about the Spartacus Workout. Maybe you should try it out first since you don't have to pay to use it.

A friend has been using it, not changing his diet just doing the work outs and has dropped about 40 lbs in 10 weeks.....

Got a Link
From what I read everyone seems to be saying you need a pull up bar etc, I've not researched it 100% yet mind, just after thoughts.
I suck at pull ups...
I think my diet is ok (could be better) but I think its ok anyway, just could do with more of a routine now at home and something I can really sink my teeth into

Dude I S-U-C-K-E-D at pullups when I started also, now I can do ten without thinking.
You'll progress fast at them no probs and you can use a pullup bar for a fair few things. Check out the kind I bought that sorta levers itself into the door frame with you on it. I do weighted pullups with this thing and it's steady as hell:

Do read Scooby's website all the way - it's a fantastic resource, all free and done by hobbyists etc and UBER strict on keeping good form and safe.
Best of luck though for sure whichever way you go! :)

ok, so a pullup bar is pretty cheap to get...just ensure you have a normal sized doorway you can out it in. I would recommend the "clip on" ones like in the above picture, vice one you screw into the doorway. Understand you still may leave some black marks on the trim from the padding.
Pullups are more or less one of the best workouts you can do for your entire body and utilitarian strength. If you suck at them, don't be like "awh I don't want to do them because its hard" but work hard and get better at them. Things like pullups, pushups, dips, and the like are hard b/c the only real way to get good at them is to do them a lot. Start out small...everytime you pass the pull up bar bust out a quick ten, or 8 , or whatever you can muster. Within a month you will be doing a decent amount.

Dont those door frame pulls put too much strain on the frame and warp it? Besides I have to go for a wall mounted option because the maximum weight I've seen them door ones support is 95Kg and Im 111.5Kg at the moment...

Ah right. :)
And yeah they do put a bit of strain on the frame but they sit very sturdily in position, provided you have a lip to the top of the door frame also. On one side of mine the frame is almost flush with the wall and I have all of 2cm to rest it on, so I've stuck a screw in the top frame so the thing won't slide out mid rep.
Go with whatever's best and trust me you will get to ten rep sets before you know it! :)

I've seen a bunch of wall mounted ones (was thinking about handing it outside) but man they cost some £££ so I've decided to make one myself! :)

I did the whole program in late 2008 to prepare for martial arts.
I got much more lean (But the look wasn't my goal), and my fitness as a whole increased a bit. It's a great workout to build a little bit of everything up a bit.
I use it now here and there for supplementary training. I'm considering making it a six day occurence again, as well as going to thai boxing/bjj, but I'll ease into that a bit. lol

Hey Doug, Ive just completed p90 for the second time. Here are my conclusions;
1. It leans you out alot, im also cut in places Ive never been before.
2. Tony Horton is TERRIBLY annoying, but spokesmen usually are as reserved people dont get hired for things like this.(I wrote down the excercises in a notebook, and know what they are now, so i dont have to watch the dvds)
3. I already have a cheap gym membership, so I did most of the workouts there,(Plus 2 extra yoga classes as well..beautiful women everywhere..c'mon!)
4. I used a few different pullup assist bands from http://www.muscledriverusa.com/search.asp?keyword=bands&search=GO as opposed to a chair, or the pulllup/dip assist machines found in gyms.
5. I found the recipes in the diet ok, some are bland and boring, some are good. But I guess dieting isnt supposed to be fun.
-Have you made up your mind to try it yet?
take care.
