I like the run format but can't help thinking that it's just a matter of time before PC Plod pulls them over to ask a few questions.
They looked like a couple of criminals legging it from a burglary.

I also thought the underpass crossing was just plain stupid.
All it would take is one slip and you'd be under a passing car.
By all means climb something dangerous but I'd be mightily cheesed off is some doofus fell under my wheels because he wanted to do a "special" run.

I don't want to be a killjoy, but I agree with PASmith on this, it looks great for fitness but seems like asking for trouble with the police and/or an accident. In particular the underpass crossing and swimming the canal. I have a friend who got horrible diesel poisoning from falling out of her kayak into a canal and accidently swallowing some water, and you just don't know what's in the water or just under the surface.

Weil's disease anyone?
There's a good reason dogs are vaccinated against Leptospirosis.
It's because they tend to jump into manky water where rats have had a widdle. :)

I like the cross country nature of the run though...my old route had a couple of gates I needed to vault...good for breaking up the monoton of running.
