I love Martial Arts Movies...and I would guess many of you do too...so, I'll save you on this one.

Wait until it comes out on DVD.

I had it in my mind that after years of not having any "good" ninja movies, we would finally get one. I won't spoil it...but the only worth while parts are at the Dojo/Temple. It's as if the good parts of the movie were spliced in with some other low budget ninja script with horrible actors. It could have been made much better with only a few tweaks here and there. The Master Ninja and his "disciples" were perfectly fine in their roles...it was the "non" ninja actors who sucked arse!!!

IMHO.

The Ki Power rating is :star::star: out of :star::star::star::star::star:

Thoughts?

Wouldn't we have to go see it before it came out on DVD to have an opinion? I appreciate the review. Too bad.

gotta love a ninja who uses a kusarigama as a weapon of choice and wields it like a rope dart

Ye Gods. More movie-ninjitsu again...

Why isn't it Thaibow Assassin or MMA Assassin, given today's martial arts trends? The Ninja fad was a 1980s thing, last I checked.

The Wachowski brothers I think are involved and they're fans of retro.

The Wachowski brothers are just secondary producers, nothing to do with the making of the film (too bad though, they could've done this right)...
Just to add my 2cents , I agree with the OP, it's a renter
(and since when is a kusarigama a single-edged Hibben fantasy knife-on-a-chain? might just be me though...lol)

Is that before or after the film "Three Ninjas (http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3569353497/)"? ;)

When it comes to martial art movies I think anything with the word ninja in the title has to be avoided

FYI: Sho Kosugi was part of this movie.. For those who don't know who he is. He ran a lot of ninja movies in the states back in the late 80s early 90s.. His sons are now included on the japanese tv show " Ninja Challenge". He also made a movie with Jean Claude Van (I don't give a) damme when JVCD came on the martial arts movie scene.. That movie blew big chunks of ninja Poo

When I see "Ninja" and "Assassin" in the title of a movie, let alone together, I know going in I am not going to get Oscar winning performances. With that in mind I went hoping for some good action with lots of bodies.

I was entertained. But I will admit during the scenes that were not action oriented the acting was pretty bad and sort of drug out the movie.

I haven't seen it yet, and judging from the responses here probably won't in the theater. The notion of a Japanese martial art with Chinese choreography seems disjointed to me however. I will say that Chinese arts lend themselves to film better than Japanese styles.

A Korean Pop star playing a Japanese assassin with Chinese fighting styles for American audiences.

Scott Adkins has just released his own ninja film from Nu Image and it's called...get ready for this:

"NINJA"!

At least in this one the Ninjas aren't hesitant to use guns.

It wasn't till after the fact I realized he was the Master in the movie...strange, because I was a fan of his movies when I was a kid.

anyways...it still holds true - the best Ninja I've see in a while is my black
ZX-10R sitting in my garage!
