Does anyone know whether there are any Silat/ FMA teachers in Brighton (or close to), East Sussex? London is a bit far due to work commitments. Many thanks.

Contact Zoltan Dienes at Sussex University Shotokan Club for Arnis/Escrima

he's a pretty good guy. Don;t think there's any Silat there though

Did I ever mention that Zoltan was one of my lecturers when I was at Sussex ('95-'98). Very intelligent and intense character.

I remember watching him doing pull-ups in the gym... 20 seconds up and 20 seconds down. For set after set. Very impressive!

Never trained with him though as I was into Kung Fu at the time!

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I did attend some of the classes in Modern Arnis run by Zoltan, but as I am more in to the unarmed aspect of MA's I ended up going to his karate-jutsu classes which took place at the same time. Nowadays, I do aikido instead. Looks like I may have to make arrangements to go to London though, I was particularly interested in the Silat offered by EastWest Studios :-)

Hi Sramanera,

Please feel free to contact me if indeed you wish to come and check out a silat class at EastWest Studios.

Have you studied any silat before?

Hope to see you soon!
