I've heard a lot of rumours about a Dragon Ball Z movie that might be in production.
(and that Jet Li might be playing Vegetta)
If anyone has any rumours (confirmed, if possible) about this, I'd REALLY like to hear it.
...sorry, but most likely it's a bad rumor...why is everyone so obsessed with it.

I heard it to awhile ago. Seems like it would be hard to make it look good with live action rather than animation.

The new movie would be the second Dragonball movie, then?

I heard Hugh Jackman was gonna be Goku, but I HAVE MY DOUBTS.
I don't mean any offense, but Caucasians with extremely Asian names in movies crack me up :p (Anyone remember the "Fist of The North Star" movie?)

To the extreme. It's sad when kids watch this show and are obsessed with it. It's even sadder when it's 17 year olds who are obsessed with it and DEBATE on who would win in a fight.

It's important to remember that Dragonball is different from DBZ. DBZ is horrible, stupid, and ridiculous.
On the other hand, Dragon Ball is a lot better. Not great, but better. There is some humor, Goku can't destroy the planet with a wave of his hand, and most of the chracters are at least semi-significant (in DBZ, Picollo, Tien and Yamcha's job is to say "How did he get so fast/powerful?!). Also, they usually actually show the fights (sure, they repeat scenes, but most DBZ fights involve only 4 moves: superfast punching, superfast kicking, energy blasts, and turning into little motion line whooshes that hit each other). So, in my opinion, Dragon Ball is at least worth watching if you're bored, while DBZ needs to be shot.

Whats wrong with watching Dragonball/DBZ/GT. I think some people for gets its a cartoon...note* cartoons arent supossed to be realistic hence the can do thing we cant. Just because some people are dumb and try to shoot energy out of there hands donest make it a bad show. Now DBZ is actually quite dumb although I did like it for a while but the three episodes of talking before a fight got dumb fast. But the original dragonball and the new GT the just started showing on cartoon network in the US are pretty good.

Dragonball Z has best super hero fighting scenes in anything. I've never seen the type of battles i've seen in DBZ in any Superman, Teen Titans, Justice League or any other type of american or japanese animation or live action show, feature, or miniseries. DBZ kicks ass. If the next Superman choreographed their CGI superhero fight scenes like an episode from the Cell Saga of DBZ it would become the highest grossing super hero movie of all time. People would be like. . ."Matrix? What's that?"

Um, the DBZ fight scenes are: Both fighters stand in place, yell really loud, then disappear in lines of motion, which flit across the screen and hit each other, causing circles to appear. Or they show the fighters shooting the exact same type of punch or kick about 1000 times, while the other fighter blocks or dodges using the exact same movement every time. Occasionally this is mixed up with energy blasts that don't seem to do much. Actually, nothing in the show does much, except for the final, "I powered up so my hair is even longer and shinier" energy blast, which we know works because it causes an "oppponent getting disintegrated" cutscene, as opposed to all the other energy blasts.
Not really impressive stuff. At least in Dragonball they show different attacks.
The final fight in the Matrix was pretty much how a "good" DBZ live-action fight would look.

K'mon man, Anyone who watches the series knows that Dragan Ball is the kiddie (or kiddier) one and Dragan ball Z was geared for adults. The fights in Dragon Ball z aren't meant to be like a hollywood action scene. The fights are completely symbolic of how powerful these people have become and arent meant to "dazzle us with the effeciveness of their abilities" but give us a feeling of the awesome power at their command (hence, the lines represent the fact that they're so fast that our naked eye can barely catch a mere glimpse of movement.)
So, Kreen Warrior, either find a way to take the "Z" of the air and give purpose to your b*tching or come to terms with the fact that there is merit to the show.

Yeah. They have awesome power. Goku can blow up a planet. And it makes me want to yawn. There's nothing special to the characters in Z. They're boring. They all have identical abilities. So what if they're strong, if everyone else is exactly as strong? Yeah, moving faster than you can see them is cool, but they do it EVERY SINGLE BATTLE! Vegeta could blow up planets in the first Saga. How can you top that? You can't. As the series went on, the ridiculousness of the power levels of these characters became apparent. Come on, Super Saiyans were supposed to put the rulers of the universe to shame (the Kai's)! And the Super Saiyans make the rest of the characters pointless.
Yes. Dragon Ball is the "kiddie" version. And it's significantly better. The characters usually have some useful trait, or at least some personality quirks. It's funnier, the battles are better done, and the characters are more interesting. Hence it's a better show.

Oh, Lord...
"To each is own"
Don't sh*t all over the series just because YOU think it's boring, YOU would rather have child-like jokes and YOU can't look past your own self-centered point of view to see that others might like it.
Poop-loops, you were right. This is pretty pathetic. I've got better things to do.

first off, my guess is that u like dragonball more than DBZ because it is "more" realistic than DBZ. It shows more of the physical characteristics rather than there "power levels". I watch both and think there both great shows but it really depends on what kind of television you like to watch, more talking or more fighting. Face it, DB was origionaly intended to be a more funny and vocal show rather than DBZ which is a more physical show. The creator figured out that more people wanted to see more fights, in comes DBZ!
why don't we all agree to dissagree!
*pushing back on topic*
The movie could possibly be true but if it is the chance of them already having a cast is very unlikely. Why don't we all wait it out and see if the rumors are true!

though that may be true that you can draw just about anything for Dragon Ball when everyone thinks of the next planet blowing move what used to be "woah!!" and "yeah!!!" become yeah-yeah been there done that.
Ever played table top RPG and the campaign has gone cosmic? there's no more thrill to it.
Heck you'd bet with your eyes closed that Gokou would always win!

do that too much and it becomes lame.
it was more interesting in dragonball to see how Gokou could figure out the kamehame wave during his first glimpse of it and was able to improve it. That's like seeing a whitebelt master a 10 stack break the first time he sees it. That's what makes Gokou awsome.
It's also more mature than Z or GT because if you are literarilly oriented you'd appreciate the fact that it's an adaptation of the chinese "Journey to the West" just like Gensomaden saiyuki. and the 70's Johnny Kugo (Son Goku). The cloud the staff the tail all make sense.
but when power levels shoot over the top what's the next best thing? That's why down to earth heroes like Batman still have a following. He copes. that's why they weakened Superman because he was absurdly strong. He used to push the earth in and out of orbit.
And I preffer Picollo. His powers are not handed to him in a silver platter but he finds a way to compete with the big boys. And that's what martial arts are about
Just to keep going on, Jet Li as Vegeta. I'm outta this. Just to be sarcastic, maybe I can make a bug crawl up my ass and die. Sorry.
