Well ... I've got a lot of them. I kind of collect quotes :)
Here's a link to about 150 (give or take a few) that I feel have some relevance to martial arts ... though the relevance may not be obvious.

The tighter you hold on to life the more it slips away from you.
When you face someone willing to die for his beliefs this is good, both you and he have the same aim in mind.
Anyone who believes that they are truly ready to die, will.
Bloodimindedness will defeat skill on all occasions.
There are two ways to defeat an opponent. Work against them, or work with them.
Absence of body is better than presence of mind.
If you can't win a fair fight, cheat.
If someone claims that weapons are for weaklings then I'd prefer to face them over one of their weaklings.
Don't fear the brave man, fear the coward who will fight merely to deny his fear.
If you are at someone's mercy pray that they are evil, since evil loves to gloat and mock. A good person will finish you without a word.
Conscious thought and movement should never be linked, they merely hamper one another.
If you can defend yourself then you can help defend a victim.
Possessions can be replaced, a life cannot.
Either everything is a weapon, or nothing truly is.

Does Terry Pratchett count as a martial arts quote, CKDStudent? If so, I'll paraphrase Douglas Adams: The secret of a flying kick is to fall and miss the ground.

I like the one in my tagline. It's from a novel by Robert Anton Wilson; and it has the same general import, though it's communicated differently, as that great line from Dr. Strangelove: "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

"This is the true joy in life - that being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one. That being a force of nature, instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live it is my priviledge to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for it's own sake.

"What does not destroy you can only make you stronger"- Friedrich Nietzsche

-Hagakure
"Our bodies are given life from the midst of nothingness. Existing where there is nothing is the meaning of the phrase, "form is emptiness." That all things are provided for by nothingness is the meaning of the phrase, "Emptiness is form." One should not think that these are two separate things."

Nowadays men shun mercy,but try to be brave;

My attempt at being “profound”
These are all mine waddya think?
You laugh at me because I do not know, I laugh at you because you think you know.
It is the duty of every generation to question tradition.
It is either the great fool or the great genius who is amused by the simplest things.
You can have the intelligence, wisdom, and leadership to change the world. This does
not mean people will listen to you.
Spirituality is embracing the unknown, religion is fearing it.
One mistake teaches more than a hundred successes.
When confronted with the shallowness of the world, sometimes it’s comforting,
sometimes it’s scary.
I’m supposed to believe that God gave us free will, then told us exactly how to live, and
threatened us with eternal punishment if we did not obey?
“Winning isn’t everything” is comfort for the losers.
Whether you succeed or fail, 6.3 billion people don’t care.
The optimist is blind to the sorrow of the world, the pessimist is blind to it’s beauty .
The braggart revels in praise, the humble do not need it.
Others are grateful for things you make for them, others stand in awe of things you make
for yourself.
As a society moves towards making things simple and easy, it produces less and less
things of worth.
Beuracracy is the greatest impediment to progress humanity has ever produced.
Revenge can not make up for the past.
Ignorance and laziness are the greatest allies of injustice.
Those who burn their bridges often come to dead ends.
The person who has learned a great deal will speak rarely and quietly.
The person who leads always finds followers.
The person who does not enjoy the journey will not enjoy the destination.
Only if you understand the rules will you know when to break them.
If everyone would just admit that they don’t know what they’re doing, we could all get
some real work done.
War has nothing to do with weapons.
I hope God isn’t standing over us with a proverbial can of Raid.
All of morality and ethics boils down to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you”
If God had wanted us to do drugs and have sex, he would have given us free will.
Only complain if it can help.
Living inside the box carries the danger of making you a square.
People do drugs to escape reality. If the government really wanted us to stop doing drugs
it would make reality better.
Never assume logic is invloved.
Hitler wasn’t crazy, he was just stupid.
Being unpopular is often a compliment.

Clay is molded to form a cup, But it is on its non-being that the utility of the cup depends. Doors and windows are cut out to make a room, But it is on its non-being that the utility of the room depends. Therefore turn being into advantage, and turn non-being into utility.

Lao Tzu

"Don't fear death. Fear the unlived life." (Natalie Babbitt)
"It is not the accumulation of extraneous knowledge, but the realization of the self within, that constitutes true progress." (Okakura Kakuzo)
"The art of the sword consists of never being concerned with victory or defeat, with strength or weakness, of not moving one step forward, nor one step backward, or the enemy not seeing me and my not seeing the enemy. Penetrating to that which is fundamental before the separation of heaven and earth where even yin and yang cannot reach, one instantly attains proficiency in the art." (Takuan)
"No one nation or people has a monopoly on the sun and no one art or
system as a monopoly on truth." (Mike Casto)
"The Art of Peace is medicine for a sick world. There is evil and disorder in the world, because people have forgotten that all things emanate from one source. Return to that source and leave behind all self-centered thoughts, petty desires, and anger. Those who are possessed by nothing possess everything." (Morihei Ueshiba-- O'Sensei)
"When two tigers fight, one is certain to be maimed, and one to die." (Master Funakoshi)
"The sword has to be more than a simple weapon; it has to be an answer to life's questions." (Miyamoto Musashi)
"The way of the sword and the Way of Zen are identical, for they have the same purpose; that of killing the ego." (Yamada Jirokichi)
"Sword and mind must be united. Technique by itself is insufficient, and spirit alone is not enough." (Yamada Jirokichi)
"Eyes still without blinking at once became absolutely free" (Don Juan, Yaqui Indian)
"Truth is universal. Perception of truth is not."
"All paths are the same: they lead nowhere." (Don Juan)
"As long as a man feels that he is the most important thing in the world, he cannot really appreciate the world around him. He is like a horse with blinders; all he sees is himself, apart from everything else." (Don Juan)
"When one has nothing to lose, one becomes courageous. We are timid only when there is something we can still cling to." (Don Juan)
"For a seer, the truth is that all living beings are struggling to die. What stops death is awareness." (Don Juan)
"We choose only once. We choose either to be warriors or to be ordinary men. A second chance does not exist. Not on this Earth." (Don Juan)
"The worst that could happen to us is that we have to die, and since that is already our unalterable fate, we are free; those who have lost everything no longer have anything to fear." (Don Juan)
"The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything as a blessing or a curse." (Don Juan)
"Once inner silence is attained, everything is possible. The way to stop talking to ourselves is to use exactly the same method used to teach us to talk to ourselves; we were taught compulsively and unwaveringly, and this is the way we must stop it: compulsively and unwaveringly." (Don Juan; similarly Siddharta Buddha)
"When a man embarks on the warriors' path he becomes aware, in a gradual manner, that ordinary life has been left forever behind. The means of the ordinary world are no longer a buffer to him; and he must adopt a new way of life if he is going to survive." (Don Juan)
"What we need to do to allow magic to get hold of us is to banish doubts from our minds. Once doubts are banished anything is possible." (Don Juan)
"A warrior must learn to make every act count, since he is going to be here in this world for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it." (Don Juan)
"It doesn't matter what one reveals or what one keeps to oneself. Everything we do, everything we are, rests on our personal power. If we don't have enough personal power the most magnificent piece of wisdom can be revealed to us and it won't make a damn bit of difference." (Don Juan)
"Inner silence works from the moment you begin to accrue it. What the old sorcerers were after was the final dramatic, end result of reaching that individual threshold of silence. Some very talented practitioners need only a few minutes of silence to reach that coveted goal. Others, less talented, need long periods of silence, perhaps more than one hour of quietude, before they reach the desired result. The desired result is what the old sorcerers called "stopping the world", the moment when everything around us ceases to be what it's always been. This is the moment when sorcerers return to the TRUE nature of man. The old sorcerers always called it "total freedom"."
(Don Juan)
"A warrior considers himself already dead, so there is nothing to lose. The worst has already happened to him, therefore he’s clear and calm; judging him by his acts or by his words, one would never suspect that he has witnessed everything." (Don Juan)
"Warriors lead through intuition, ordinary men follow with Science and Religion" (Gerard).

It is important to view our martial arts training as an integral, yet not necessarily “special” part of our lives. Once we make it special or give another meaning to our training outside of the everyday activity of our lives, it becomes separate from ourselves. For example, brushing our teeth is not a special part of our lives, but it is necessary to do it several times a day, every day. We don’t “master” brushing our teeth and then quit.

With due respect, and to quote from the Tao of Jeet Kune Do Bruce Lee has observed on the Qualities of a martial artist
"A powerful athlete is not a strong athlete, but one who can exert his strength quickly. Since power equals force times speed, if the athlete learns to make faster movements he increases his power, even though the contractile pulling strength of his muscles remains unchanged. Thus, a smaller man who can swing faster may hit as hard or as far as the heavier man who swings slowly"

Ok, ok, I'm no Yohan fanboy (ok maybe a little). But just to point out the key line from the excerpt above is "but one who can exert his strength quickly". The ability to exert strength quickly is acceleration, not speed. The "force times speed" comment is often read a little to literally and is in fact a reference to the amount of (or speed of) acceleration by an object.

The speed at which the fist, foot, knee, elbow etc is travelling at the point of impact is in direct relation to the acceleration from the point which it was thrown and the force it was thrown at. The force at which the shot lands depends on the speed at impact (where acceleration is zero) x by the mass behind the shot. Would you rather be hit by Mike Tyson when he was at his peak or Prince Naseem?!? Naseems shot might have travelled a bit quicker, but not enough to land with anywhere near the same FORCE as Tyson's as he was so much bigger and stronger, it really is a no brainer!!
