My start into martial arts was through my Dad who's an old fashioned boxing type. He took me to a small boxing club. I was only a small child at the time, I remember the ring looking massive, like some kind of arena where gladiators would fight to the death. I think I was too young to train there at the time, which I was very happy about. So he enrolled me at his friends Judo club, and that was my start to martial arts.

A friend had gone to a wing chun class and was enthusing about it so I went along to see what it was all about. He stopped after a few weeks but I'd got interested and here I still am! My reasoning for starting another MA 2 years later isn't clear to me but somehow I ended up doing aikido too.

It was just something I always wanted to do, inspired by old kung-fu movies I guess, with Bruce Lee being my number one inspiration.

This is what got me started - saw the movies and thought how cool is this guy!

After all that never got into Aikido - strange huh?

To be honest I`m not sure I can remember the exact reason.
