Geoff's a good guy - I've learned heaps from his stuff over the years. Most of it about not about fighting - or even "about not fighting". He's put out some truly inspirational work in the last few years.

I was thinking about buying his book on joint locks. I've read some of his articles, good in some ways. Not sure if I got anything from them. They can be a bit depressing, he keeps assuming martial artist aren't ready for the street, and whats more important than technique is an understanding of anger and fear. Which of his books would you recommend? I might give one a try.

He is very readable even for klutzes like me who can't understand written descriptions and need pictures.

His actual martial arts books are nothing special - I would recommend his original "Watch my Back" if you want a good read.

If you want something to benefit your self defence capabilities try "Animal Day" or "The 3 Second Fighter" .

If you want something that will have a positive effect on your life in general try "The Elephant and the Twig" or " Fear - The Friend of Exceptional People".

I've got Watch my back, bloody good, very discriptive.

I also have Animal day vol 1&2 video, and three second fighter vid'
learnt a little off those, gives you training ideas more than anything.
We do similar training in the combat ju jitsu class i attend.

Got a website for that class actually have look see what you think.

Geoff's training books are nothing original, he's just one of the first guys to get out there with some good material and seize the market, I would however recomend them (a bit pricey at a tenner per Real book though).

Watch my Back is an excellent read though, a definate MAist must!
