Hi I have a competition coming up in 2 months and in the past I've always had problems with the mouthgear. I'm not sure if its my technique or if the mouthgear just sucks. I have a very hard time yelling with the mouthgear in my mouth and it even falls out sometimes.
I know you can get custom molds from the dentist, but that is a bit out of my budget.
Thanks!!
If you can't afford a custom use a shock doctor

Yeah, shockdocs are great. Compared to my normal mouth guard, I notice it absorbs quite a bit more. But, why are you yelling in a fight?

Well its TKD and I believe yelling intimidates your opponent, and gives you more power in your kicks. How does the ultra version compare to the nano?

Ah ok... I get you. Yeah, I bought mine a while ago, so I dont recall the model, but it looks like the ultra one. Not sure what the difference is, but I would just go for the Ultra. Mine pretty much sticks to my upper teeth, kinda hard to pull it off sometimes. I think its all a matter of moulding though. This is gonna sound weird, but you really need to get the tongue and suction involved when moulding, if you want a good fit.

Get the best you can afford. The whole range is excellent.

Out of interest, does anyone have a rough figure for how much a dentist moulding costs?

I had a custom mouthguard made last year and I think it was around £40

Cheers, £40 quid isn't so bad, I was expecting ridiculous money!
