My wife was admitted to hospital last night with a blood clot on the lung (P.E.).

Anyone here dealt with this in the past, either themselves or a family member?

Here's to hoping the missus recovers well!

Weird enough that SHE suffered one, aren't hip surgery patients a risk group for PE?

My bro had it once, was out of hospital in a few days and bouncing around by then next week. Hope she gets better real soon

Sorry I can't add anything useful but I just wanted to say I hope she gets sorted and that you're holding up ok. Can’t be easy for you.

Yes! We'll actually be on the same anticoagulant medication, though mine is a lower "therapeutic" dose for precautionary measures.

My wife said to pass on her thanks to all in this thread for the well wishes. She's in great spirits and all going well should be home by the weekend.
