After seeing the trailers for this movie I decided that I had to go see it, it looked funny, sort of like a vampire version of the awesome “Shaun of the Dead”.
Lesbian Vampire Killers stars comedy duo James Corden and Mathew Horne of “Gavin and Stacey” and “Corden and Horne” fame who decide to get away from it all by going on a hiking trip to some remote village in some backward part of the UK (no, not Lancashire… ;) ). However, said village, is under a centuries old curse which see’s all the ladies become slaves to the lesbian vampires when they come of age.
Cue lots of hot European chicks, a manic vicar vampire hunter, a vampire queen, stakes, comdoms full of holy water and a fulfillment of an ancient prophesy and you have yourself a “meh” movie.
Admittedly, some bits of it were funny (“I swear next he’ll have me bummed by a big gay werewolf”) but overall it was very lacking on both the comedy and horror front and it smacked of “cashing in” on a “flavour of the month” comedy duo who aren’t as funny as they think they are.
