Broke my toe last night (those of you friends with me on facebook can see it there :D). Was at muay thai, we were doing light sparring, I was throwing a front kick (I think) ,guy brought his knee up and I caught it. It's a really awkward break and I can put no pressure on my foot, so on crutches.
The xray was quite impressive :D
Quite upset though, having to miss the mt grading tomorrow I have been training so hard for. Wouldn't mind but we didn't spar properly as my kru didn't want any of us to get injured! :bang:
Oh well, I am out for a bit, off to clinic later to see if it has to be wired up or not.
So so so annoyed at myself for throwing a bad technique :(

That sucks. Though a front kick that lands on a knee is pretty likely to end with a broken toe no matter if you threw it properly or not. Hope it heals for you quickly.
You'll be getting the lecture off your family now I guess. Get well soon!

If your going to break your toe that's a pretty good way.
I broke mine on a wet floor and landed headfirst into a bin. Not the best story to explain weeks off work.
"Broke it thai boxing" << Now that's an acceptable reason:cool:

Gaaaaaah, I just put a little weight on my foot trying to get to the bathroom and my toe cracked and I got a horrible pain again, it was a little straighter last night but seems to have moved back again. :( Back at the clinic later. The painkillers are making me feel sick too now

A little story about wonky toes.
My Dad (great kungfu master he be) about 12yrs ago, forgot his housekeys/car keys.
Believing in his agility and having no fear (or sense depending on your view) he decided to scale the wall and enter the home via a open side window on the 2nd floor. My Mum happily cheering him on watching from the sidelines.
Dad manages to reach the window, puts a foot on the windowsill. The windowsill breaks and without any footing he loses his balance and falls. Thankfully due to his mad skillz he manages to land on his feet and breaks everybone in his left foot.
Doctors tell him not to put any weight on it, and due to his age to use the wheelchair or crutches for he will be in a cast for 2 months.
Do you know what he did instead? Went straight to the restaurant and did a 12hour shift and left the crutches in the Hospital. Our GP actually had to turn up and give Dad the crutches and a nagging.
Anyway....now his foot has healed all wrong and his big toe is covering his other toe like how you would cross your toes for luck.
My Mum thought it was the best Anniversary ever.

Ouch!!! Silly man!
Just got back from the clinic. Had a local anaesthetic and he tried to straighten it. Jamie found it difficult to watch and didnt feel too great either. The top of my foot has now ballooned and gone blue and I feel horribly sick.
Anyway, won't be putting pressure on it till I know it's starting to knit back properly when I go back in 2 weeks.
They seemed quite impressed anyway about how I did it :D

Congratulations on your first break! ;)
Hope your pain goes soon! At least it's a sporting injury!
