what does everyone think about intergrateing plyometrics in with heavy weight training for example this was a routine i was thinking about trying out.

wednesday and either saturday or sunday ( not both ) doing 1 set of weights followed by 1 set of plyometric exersies straight after then rest for approx 2 - 3 minuites before next complete set.

bench press 3 sets
clappin push ups 3 sets of 10

Weighted pull ups 3 sets
Medicine ball slams 3 sets of 10

bent over rows 3 sets
medicine ball side throws 3 sets of 10

shoulder press 3 sets

medicine ball side throws 3 sets of 10

Weighted squats 3 sets

jumping tuk jumps 3 sets of 10

I have heard the it helps recruit more fast twitch muscle fibers and helps to develope max stregth and speed strengh in 1 workout . so what do you guys think good or bad ? thanx for the opinions i have heard good things about this type of approach :)

Do your plyos before your weights.

Don't do them for more than 8-10 weeks in a row (or something). Because the effects you get from plyos is mostly neurological, your rate of return will taper off pretty quick.

UFC welter weight champion GSP does plyometrics just after each set of his strength exercises.
