I teach self defence and have run courses specifically for women and at present am co-ordinating a programme in 43 junior schools in Cardiff.
I believe being streetwise and having the knowledge of avoiding a situation before it arises is most important.
I do not teach any specific martial art on these courses, but put humour and breakaway techniques into the course.

Roy, would you be interested in allowing one of the members from this forum to come and review your class for MAP?

breakaway techniques are what I call quick painful moves, that are not really life threatening, but will make an attacker release, his/her grip for you to escape.
strength not needed for these.
