Hi Vipe,

Welcome to Martial Arts Planet

You will find most Martial Arts in Glasgow well covered. There are at least five well represented and presented Chinese Kung Fu systems, some of which are fairly exotic. Hapkido also springs to mind, there is/was a small club on Dumbarton Road just past 'Creme de la Creme' down a back alley.

As an idea, why not check out the Savoy Centre's 'Karate Shop', the chap in there has a folder full of local clubs and instructors.

Let us know how you get on.

Andy

Hi, I replied to someone called DingO i think about the same,

Our club is Dumbarton Kung Fu, it meets every tuesady 7pm - 8pm and thursday 7pm - 8pm bginners, 8pm - 9pm fighting class, 9pm - 10pm advanced class.
We have also expanded recently to Yoker sports centre on a monday night 6pm - 7pm beginners & advanced & Scotstoun sports centre on a friday night 6pm - 7pm beginners to advanced, if this helps.

we do a style called Lan Jung Kuen which is a form of Lau Gar.

Hi Vipe...

May be a bit out of your way but in exotic Greenock we're researching/training in old forms of MA that were practiced by Scots in Scotland at one time or another.....
Including Single-stickfighting, Broadsword, Dirk & Targe, Dirk fencing and old forms of Scottish/European unarmed combat!

Elhiggito's Glasgow club have kindly invited me to host a seminar this Wed,
details are posted on MAP at;

Drop by, perhaps Elhiggito's class in Glasgow may be what your looking for?
Louie :D

I done just that recently but a lot of the stuff in the folder looks to be out of date im afraid, all i came away with was Krauseworld , a mai thia place (i think this may be the one by 'Creme de la Creme') and a ninjutsu school, there advert gave the address and stated it was a new begginers course starting last oct but had no e mail or phone number to get in touch. granted i am limiting my search to the city centre so i could train straight after work, and there are plenty of options further out but i honestly thought there would be more choice than this in the city centre. Help!

That folder is a bit out of date.
The posters on the windows are more up to date.
I'd also advise you to check the notice boards in local libraries, local newsagents, colleges and schools.
The Chi centre on Glassford street has some stuff going on. There is a very well established Karate school nearby.
There are MA clubs in all the colleges and universities.
Yeah, check out the athletic centre of Caledonian Uni.
We are out in the West End, Anniesland way.
PM if that is good for you.
