I was looking in the book I use how to perform Snatch High Pull and Clean High Pull correctly and it says to pull from the knee hight. I saw few videos on youtube and they are performed from deadlift possition. Is there a lot of difference in effectivness when performing these exercises from either possition?

If I didn't already answer your question, I don't think I understood it. What was the question?

My question was do you start off from from the deadlift possition from floor or power possition from knees.
I think you pretty much got it, you said if you start off from the floor there's more momentum which would help lift more weight.

what yohan is saying is that the use of the word "hang" means from knees
so essentially they're two different exercises

Oh...ok then.
I thought "hang" meant when you pull it up to your chest...

Yep - sorry I didn't clarify there.
