I have a great problem I cannot perservire with training.
Countless times I have begun a training regime at home yet been unable to keep at it. I badly need to get back into shape if I am going to return to my Tae Kwon Do Training or begin any other martial art training but I cannot keep to a regime of training.
Any help on how people keep there training regime "alive" could you please post reply's to this or PM me with ideas for me to keep a regime going.

When I first started training that used to happen to me. Pick a time of the day that suits best and start off with just 20 minutes. The most important thing initially is to make the training a habitual thing that you do at that time of the day. Keep it short and then you won't dread it. You can increase the time once you have made it into a habit. And join a club. Don't wait to get in shape before you join. Joining will help you set goals and help with motivation.

Artful Dodger said it ... "And join a club. Don't wait to get in shape before you join. Joining will help you set goals and help with motivation."

I was on another board that had the same subject as this one. We all told the guy, "Don't wait to get in shape. Martial arts and training will help you do that", and we told him to "just get your butt to class" :D .

that brings up the question do I wanna go back to my previous TKD class which I left 2 years ago or learn another martial art?

Opinions seeing I'm around 6'4, 90Kg and has an intrest in kung fu, I'm looking for an style where I can be able to finish street fights in one movement as I have lots of confrontaions in my area and panic when under pressure so the quicker its over, if it cant be stopped, the better

Look in the phone book in your area. See what's out there. Visit different schools, even take a free class or two. Try them out. Then pick the one you like.

I would say this: it's not the art, but the instructor. But if you want "quick" ways to end a fight, I'd say go for Hapkido or Kenpo. I don't know much about any others, but these two are great for self defense. I'd love to do either one, but there isn't a school around me that teaches it.

Learn to hit people with bricks!

it's not the art, but the instructor

So true, get the numbers and training times of all the styles in your area and get down for a couple of lessosns of each and then take your pick!
