I was wondering if anyone could tell me the verdict on these breathing type aid things where you can increase the resistance.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and am housebound just now but still want to do something so im not completely crap when im able to train again>

Anyhelp is appreciated.

Well...

I'm a respiratory therapist, and I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. How's THAT help? ;)

Are you talking about airway resistance, flutter valves, PAP devices...? I don't think any of the above would do much in the way of cardiovascular training, if that's what you're looking into. Deep breathing exercises are always good for fending off atelectasis/lung collapse, particularly if you're forced to be a bit sedentary.

I was in bed for about six months about a year ago. I spent all my spare money on MMA vids and watched them all, concentrating hard. I sometimes did very slow shadowboxing/general movement to try to copy what was being done.

Now I'm training again I honestly think its helped my abilities a bit. Watch people do things well enough times and you do pick up some good habits. Hope you can train again soon.
