What on earth are you supposed to do when you get all these;
blahblah.exe file is corrupt please restart your computer.
What's Rnapp mean.
Is there some site I can go to that'll take a look at my pc and sort out all my Win98 ailments?
PC's are the work of the devil! :(

RNAPP = Remote Network Access Application (Dial up networking used to access the Internet)

depends what blahblad.exe is. If you get a lot of files 'corrupt', then it is possible that your hard disk is failing.
Try going to 'My Computer', right click on your hard disk, go to properties and run a scandisk from there (with all the tickboxes ticked). Will take ages, but will examine your disk for errors.
You can also get corrupted file messages when your memory/motherboard/processor is faulty, or you have loose / faulty drive cables. These are trickier to track down, so would look at your hard disk first.

I'll post some tips in a new thread in this forum for keeping your windows PC up to date / safe.

Does it happen everytime your PC starts or when you try to start a specific proggy?
Common solutions in addition to what HKF mentioned.
Get rid of all startup items.
Make sure only two things are running - explorer and systray [press ctrl+alt+del [3 button salute] to check and "end task" all except explorer and systray.
If all else fails - Re-install windows ;)

Ooh, if only I could find that disk! :(
Running deepscan.
'Rnapp' seems to be one of my biggest problems with regular popups during graphics work, games, and after logging offline.
Currently running deep scan on hard drive, uploaded HKF's reccomended firewall and downloading new driver for my NVIDIA TNT2 card.
All on 56k dialup. See ya in a year! :D

possibly something is trying to access the outside world. I would install Spybot and ZoneAlarm to see if this identifies the issue.
Make sure you download the 'detonator' drivers for your card.
Would consider upgrading your TNT2 to a Geforce2 MX 400 64Mb as this is only £25 at the mo, and should make a reasonable difference to games. Go to http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components/graphicscards/productView.htm?quicklinx=10MN if you are interested. It uses the same drivers as your TNT. I'm guessing you will have an AGP port on your PC which this would require - if you are not sure, open up the case and see if the graphics card is in a different coloured slot from the rest of your cards.
(Beware of anything much more recent as it may require a faster AGP port than I would guess that you have.)
Would also upgrade your memory if you have less than 256Mb.

Click the start button, run type msconfig and press ok. Check the start up tab to see what else is starting with windows.

Nope, Apparently, being more than 6km away from the main exchange is the problem.
Work is looking into getting me an ISDN line.
Hard disk seems ok btw.
Still getting this Rnapp thing popping up, though not as much now.
PC seems a little more stable too, so thanks.
