i really do prefer to train in the morning, but since I'm working full time this is not possible. My question is when I train in the afternoon after work, is it better to eat dinner, digest the meal and then train or to train hungry then eat after. Of course its possible to eat something small before training then supper after but what kinds of food should i eat before/after training.

Depends on your goals. The best rule of thumb is just to eat every 2-4 hours. For me, I've always eaten within an hour of when my workout begins, and eat within an hour of when my workout is over. I also use protein/carb drinks to aid in recovery (which I drink during and after my workouts).

It would make a fair bit of sense to eat after the workout...Take a protein/energy drink before training to get you through that, and after take protein with your meal, the energy you take in through supper will be well used because the body is in a receptive state after training and you'll be giving it what it needs...
As Yohan said, it's dependant on goals, but if you want to add muscle, eat a fair bit of Protein for supper, after training and you can't go wrong..
I find I am usually not so hungry after training, so I can manage a rice ball or something small, but that and the protein makes me feel full so I rarely eat a lot after training..
Unlike Yohan I can't eat foods high in energy immediately after training unless I inject insulin, so I prefer to eat supper after as a way to do both at the same time..It works well...
Regards.
