Well, I managed to twist my knee on Saturday just before sparring by slipping just so on the mat. :bang: I can stand on it, but it feels stiff and somewhat "off". No real pain except if I extend it fully (which I'm trying to avoid). I'm going to see the doc tomorrow, so I'll know then how bad it is.

It may be advisable to give the doctor a better understanding of your pain, by using a scale such as 1 - 10.
E.g. 1 = very mild pain, 10 = feels like Hannibal Lector is sawing your leg off with rusty barbed wire
Try to be specific with your doc about where the pain is localised, i.e. under the kneecap, the outside or inside of the knee joint, etc.
Don't be ashamed to tell your doc exactly how you did it, too! Maybe won't help with the diagnosis, but it sure will make your doc laugh :D
Good luck with the recovery

Well, I got the verdict. Something between a grade 1 and grade 2 sprain. Very mild swelling, some instability, minor pain. I was told to keep doing what I was doing as far as treatment, and along with some naproxen I should be back to normal in 3 or 4 weeks.

Following the RICE protocall, so rest, ice, compression, elevation.
