I am wondering what kind of exercises are indigenous to your country?
In Finland, for instance, we often have "Nordic Walking" (Or, literally "Staff-walking") where we have skiing sticks which have a rubber.. thingy :D attached to the end so that one can grip the earth easier. Then one just pushes down hard so that if one takes a step with the right leg, he uses the left stick.
This really makes you walk faster and it works you upper abbs, your hands (every part, basically), your legs (naturally), and your chest. If not more.
So what do people in YOUR country do?
(In cardiovascular training we have "Ice-swimming" or whatever it might be called)
