a book , video, website will NOT teach you anything. it will only help if you are taking classes.

GO GET A QUALIFIED INSTRUCTOR

I second that Kempocos

Books, video's and internet sites are a great help if you already train with an instructor. They are of little or no value if you work soley on your own with them.

Get yo ass to a class!

Videos can be ok to learn new techniques if you got the basics down, but for a stance ya go to a class for sure.

if you want to learn and dont have any dojo's near you then video's are better than book's but it is not the same as the real thing. does anyone know any Ryu Kyu Kempo site's.

Woohoo! Yet again. Go to a class. If you can't afford it, then you can't afford a bo anyway, not trying to assume anything, but that's the most common excuse I've heard for not going to a class.

If you can't be bothered to earn the money to pay for a class then you don't have the drive to learn. No, you can't learn from books and videos. Find a class.

Yes, people used to develop their own fighting styles by not going to classes.

No, you can't do this. They did it by actually going out and fighting on a regular basis and staying alive, then they started teaching people it.
